When Lockdown Ended, Most Consumers Will Prioritize Travel

- Apr 26,2024 -

According to the GWI study, after the outbreak ended, respondents in all regions except India were more likely to buy clothes and personal electronics, while those in other regions were more likely to book travel activities. This consumption concept is also reflected all over the world.About 45 percent of those who have delayed travel plans because of the outbreak have made it a priority to book a vacation after the outbreak is over.

The survey data also show early signs of a recovery in tourism. In some countries and regions in the asia-pacific region, the number of searches for travel plans is on the rise.Searches for "hotels" in Taiwan are showing significant growth, while searches for "resorts" and "all-inclusive travel deals" are starting to pick up in Vietnam and the Philippines.

One interesting finding from the consumer survey data is that the older people are, the more likely they are to travel.Twenty-nine percent of people aged 56 to 76 choose to go on holiday, while those born after 1995 are more likely to buy clothes (25 percent) and smartphones (20 percent).
