From 2020 to 2021, due to the uncertainty of the international epidemic situation, the global operation of international hotel brands is not optimistic. However, since April last year, with the easing of the epidemic in Greater China, many international hotel brands have increased their presence in China. The layout of the hotel, the fastest recovery in the Chinese market, has become the business focus of several major international hotel groups.

Marriott International announced that it will continue to accelerate its development in China and will open its 400th hotel in China in 2021. In the third quarter of last year, Marriott signed more than half of the world's new hotel rooms in the Asia-Pacific region, most of which came from China. Jolyon Bulley, CEO of InterContinental Hotels Group Greater China, also said that in 2021, Greater China will remain the main market for InterContinental Hotels Group's global expansion.

International hotel brands such as Marriott, InterContinental, Hilton, and Hyatt, are gaining unprecedented attention in the vast western regions of China, including the southwest and northwest, compared to the east and economically developed regions.
