FF&E is part of the design document that the interior designer is responsible for. FF&E is a complex and interactive process of preparing designers. It starts in the early stages of the design process, when the different consultants of the project team are coordinated.
During the project design period, the interior designer will prepare a preliminary indicative FF&E for the client's cost consultant, a preliminary indicative timetable, proposed decoration, proposed furniture quantity and provide further assistance to improve the project budget.
In the design and development stage, the interior designer develops the design, fully coordinates with other members of the project team, and confirms the cost of the project with the customer's cost consultant.
At this stage, the consultant prepares a preliminary coordinated general layout drawing to indicate and list the floor and layout layout, finishes, low-level electrification location and FF&E layout of the contracted space, and provide FF+E specifications, including quantity.
The FF+E selection should meet the approved budget.
