Hilton Opens Its 300th Hotel In China, Accelerating The Layout Of High-end And Luxury Hotels

On December 15, Hilton's Waldorf Astoria Xiamen officially opened, which represented the official opening of Hilton’s 300th hotel in the Chinese market.


Christopher J. Nassetta, CEO of Hilton, said: “The Chinese market is Hilton’s second largest market in the world. It occupies a core position in Hilton’s strategic development. The opening of the 300th hotel is Hilton’s realization of the management of thousands of hotels in 2025. An important milestone for providing 100,000 jobs. In addition to continuously exploring the Chinese market, Hilton also strives to achieve its goal of having 50 million Hilton Honors members in China as soon as possible."


Alan Watts, President of Hilton Asia Pacific, pointed out: Thanks to strong alliances with partners, Hilton has become the fastest-growing hotel company in Asia. One out of every five hotel rooms under construction in the Asia-Pacific region belongs to Hilton, and every three in China One of the hotel rooms under construction is owned by Hilton.


In 2020, the hotel industry has encountered great challenges, but now as the demand for tourism picks up, consumers in the Asia-Pacific region are gradually recovering their confidence in the hotel industry. At present, the Asia-Pacific region owns nearly half of Hilton Group's global luxury hotels (including those that have been opened and planned). It is reported that Hilton’s seventh Waldorf Astoria hotel in the Asia-Pacific region is also about to open.


As Hilton's largest market in Asia Pacific, China not only leads the global business recovery, but also set the world's highest occupancy rate record in 2019. At present, 10 of Hilton's 18 brands have landed in China, covering various market segments from luxury, lifestyle to classic brands, aiming to meet the individual needs of different consumers. In order to meet the needs of the new generation of travelers, Hilton is gradually expanding from China's first- and second-tier cities to third- and fourth-tier cities.


In the future, Hilton will launch new hotel projects in China faster and faster. It is expected to launch the 400th hotel in the second half of next year. Focusing on the recent recovery and long-term growth of Hilton, the goal is to open more luxury hotels in key tourist destinations. . New hotel projects not only focus on mid-to-high-end brands, but also many luxury brands.


Speaking of the Xiamen market, where many international high-end and luxury brands have recently entered the market, Qian Jin, President of Hilton Greater China and Mongolia, emphasized that Waldorf Astoria must go through strict screening and detailed considerations in order to enter any destination. As a new first-tier city Xiamen, the market potential cannot be underestimated.
